Kunzum la aka Kunzum pass, one of the highest motorable pass in India, separates Lahaul and Spiti district. This place is quite near to an enchanting lake known as Chandratal lake.
The lake has got its name due to its crescent moon shape. This pristine lake lies in Spiti region, has a campsite at 2 km from it, where trekkers hook their tents and lit bonfire to enjoy the unusual serendipitous clear sky studded with stars at night.
In contrast to other flora enriched valleys of Himachal Pradesh, Lahual and Spiti are sparsely vegetative. It gives an unfathomable experience of high altitudes of the region. A different shade of mother earth to admire.
Areas have Hindu as well as Tibetan influence, which can be well observed in the culture. Lahaul-Spiti have many temples and monasteries depicting the confluence of both cultures.
Ki monastery in Spiti and Tabo monastery in Lahaul highlights the Tibetan culture prevalent in the district. 100s of monks come to Key monastery to pray and meditate each year during summers.
Baralacha La pass is a trekker’s paradise. Seasoned trekkers come from all over the world to conquer the summit.
Suraj tal lake, Pin valley national park, Kibber village, Darcha and Dhankar fort are a few other popular places to explore in Lahaul-Spiti.
Kaza is the administrative subdivision of the Spiti region. It houses many hotel and homestays for travelers coming to Lahaul-Spiti.
The duo district is around 204 km from Manali, can be reached by Manali-Leh road.

By Train: Chandigarh and Kalka are nearest railway stations. Pick up will be provided from these railway stations. Hired taxi can pick from Delhi, Chandigarh, Ambala or Kalka railway stations too.
March to October is ought to be the best time to visit the valley.
