Itinerary

Day1 Drive from Delhi to Narkanda (430 km, 10 hrs)

  • Drive from Delhi in the booked car to hills via Chandigarh.
  • Major halts will be given at Karnal and Chandigarh for lunch and tea.
  • Apart from the major halts, you may ask the driver to stop to stretch your legs.
  • It won’t be easy to blink your eyes, while you stare at the splendid way to Narkanda
  • If time allows, you may stop at Fagu, Theog and Matiana to visit few of the tourists’ places there.
  • Once you, Reach Narkanda and check in to your hotel.

Day2 Drive to Sangla from Narkanda (161 km, 6-7 hrs)

  • Before heading to Sangla, visit Hattu Peak and Hattu temple
  • Have a halt at apple orchards in the area and taste the juicy fruit grown there.
  • After that head back on the road and drive to Sangla via Rampur and Karcham Dam.
  • Stop at Karcham dam and have lunch at Wangtoo village.
  • Have lunch at a dhaba there and enjoy trout from the river Sutlej.
  • Check in to your Hotel on reaching Sangla and have dinner at a nearby place.

Day3 Sangla-Chitkul local sight seeing

  • It is a day to wake up and get ready to travel around Sangla and Chitkul
  • Have breakfast and driver will take you Kamru Fort.
  • Dedicated to Kamakshi Devi, this fort proffers scenic beauty which it overlooks.
  • After coming back from fort, drive to Chitkul. It is the last permissible village of north India.
  • Have lunch in the village and travel around the village to appreciate its beauty
  • In evening you may visit Batseri village and have tea there
  • Stay at hotel in night after coming back to Sangla.

Day4 Road ride to Kalpa and Kalpa sightseeing (40 km, 3 hrs)

  • Have breakfast at a restaurant on the way to Kalpa.
  • Kalpa is very near to district headquarter of Kinnaur.
  • Have lunch at the district headquarter of Kinnaur, Reckongpeo.
  • Taste some locally grown apple and apricots in the Reckongpeo market.
  • Visit another quirky lovely hamlet, Roghi, on the way.
  • Sutlej River passes rowdily through the basin where Kalpa is located.
  • If you are interested in angling, then Sutlej River is ideal to catch a trout.
  • Visit Kalpa Suicide point for a beautiful view.
  • At the end of the day, come back to your stay.

Day5 Kalpa to Tabo (150 km, 10 hrs)

  • Eat healthy in morning as today it is going to be a long ride alongside with many halts on the way to Tabo.
  • Nako village is another quaint village near to India-Tibet border.
  • Stopover at the pristine Nako Lake and have lunch in the village itself.
  • Get amazed seeing the convergence of Spiti River and Sutlej River in Sumdo in Hangrang Valley.
  • There will be stoppage at Gue Village. See the 500 year old mummy in the monastery in the village.
  • Reach Tabo and check in to your hotel.

Day6 Travel from Tabo to Kaza (51 km, 3 hrs)

  • Major thing in the morning to do is to visit Tabo monastery. Hence, eat breakfast soon.
  • After seeing the monastery head to Kaza.
  • Next stop will be Dhankar village.
  • Visit the 1000 foot height Dhankar monastery which is built between the spurs on a hilltop.
  • You should walk to Dhankar Lake and have lunch near to it in a picnic style.
  • You will reach Kaza in evening. Take rest for the night.

Day7 Sightseeing Kaza

  • Sightseeing of Kaza commences with visiting Key monastery, which is a prominent gompa in Spiti valley.
  • Have breakfast at local food kiosk near monastery.
  • Kibber village is the next destination.
  • It won’t be weird if you find some yaks and dxos grazing the pastures in the village.
  • Click photographs with dzos and yaks.
  • Kibber and Chicham village are linked by a bridge called as Chicham Bridge, which is considered as asia’s highest bridge.
  • After Kibber, komic village and Hikkim will be visited.
  • Don’t worry, Langza is the next place
  • Enjoy genuine Tibetan food in Kaza.
  • Relaxation in night at your stay in the town.

Day8 Enchanting Chandratal Lake and Drive to Manali (214 km, 9-10 hours)

  • Be ready to see a miracle of the world.
  • Catch the road to Chandratal Lake.
  • To go to Chandratal Lake you need to go via Lossar Village and Kunzum Pass
  • Don’t be aghast if eyes stop blinking looking at the turquoise water in the crescent shaped lake.
  • Head back to road to head to Manali after a breathtaking memory of the lake
  • Rohtang pass will come on the way.
  • If time permits then you can stop at the pass for some time.
  • Reach Manali in evening. And check in to your hotel.

Day9 End of journey in Delhi (560 km, 12 hrs)

  • Have your breakfast along with spellbinding views of Manali.
  • Driver will pick you post a healthy breakfast and check out.
  • Drive to Delhi with some breaks to freshen up and eat on the way.
