Kullu is a town that lies in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Located near bank of river Beas, Kullu has many tourist attractions in is vicinity.
Pandoh dam in Kullu district is an embankment dam constructed over the boisterous river Beas to generate electricity for the region. The area where the dam was built is called as Mandi, comes on the way to Manali.
Boasting an elevation of more than 5000 meters, Friendship Peak in Kullu District is a famous trekking summit. Once the summit is reached, one can get amazed by the beautiful view of the mountain region.
During British rule, trout was introduced to the rivers of Himachal Pradesh, and the fish still swims in the water of the stream. Beas River too has this fresh water fish in its flow. In fact, Kullu region has many fish farms that breeds the fish and sell it in the local market, and send to other Indian areas.
Kullu Shawl is famous woolen clothing in India. It comes in various designs and colors, is weaved using big machines in the factories at Kullu. A tour through the factory could be intriguing.
Mandi has a temple visited by many devotees. It is known as Hanogi Mata temple. The holy shrine is located on the way to Manali, has a jaw-dropping backdrop, decorated with snow-capped mountains, verdant pine forests and shimmering streams by Mother Nature.

By Air: Bhuntar Airport is around 50 km away from Kullu town. Hired taxi can come there to pick you. You can also board the taxi from Delhi and Chandigarh Airport.
By Train: 125 km away, Jogindernagar has the nearest railway station. But, hired taxi can pick from Delhi, Chandigarh, Ambala or Kalka railway stations too.
Due to bearable weather, one can plan a visit to Kullu anytime in a year.
