Baspa River, a tributary of Sutlej River, flows through the valley where Sangla is located. That’s why valley is called as Baspa Valley. Baspa Dam reservoir proffers the placid views of the tranquil water which further is used to produce electricity by a hydroelectric turbine.
Kinnaur is quite famous for apple and apricot farming. Hence, it is highly recommended to try the fruits there and also bring some for your close ones and neighbors as nutritious souvenirs.

Karcham Dam comes on the way to Chitkul, via sangla, is intriguing site to visit and see some science work there.
Houses in Chitkul are precariously made on the slopes of the mountains and usually have a slate or wooden plank roof. Kagyupa Temple, which is a Buddhist monastery is located in the village.
